2015 Red Cap Sauvignon Blanc, Club
The Red Cap 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is a massive wine from a tiny vintage. The California drought took its toll on grape production in 2015 and yields were down 30 to 70% across the valley. Small, tight clusters ripened easily, resulting in intense, expressive juice. Barrel fermented and blended with 15% Semillon, aromas of honeysuckle, pear and citrus greet you on the generous nose. On the palate the viscosity and weight impress. Flavors of apricot, papaya and honeydew dance across layers of minerality. The incredible balance on the long, juicy finish rounds out this beautiful, age worthy wine.
