2018 Red Cap Cabernet Sauvignon
In the Napa Valley, every year yields a memorable vintage. The 2018 vintage holds the promise of something quite special for Cabernet Sauvignon. Critics, wine lovers and novices would agree that they are world-class. There are a few vintages that are truly remarkable and 2018 is one of them. We are quite enthusiastic about the 2018 Red Cap Wines.
2018 was a nearly perfect vintage. Budbreak was delayed due to a very cool spring and the growing and ripening seasons were mild. This led to an extremely long, cool ripening season with cold nights resulting in harvest being two weeks later than usual. Under these conditions, wildly complex flavors, and aromas flourish. This quintessential Red Cap Cabernet echoes aromas of black currant and black plum with youthful tannins that are not shy. A young wine with great harmony and will do extraordinary with some time.
